About the Port

Located on the west Coast in Southern California, the Port of Long Beach is one of the nation’s busiest container gateways.  The port handled 9.6 million TEUs in 2024, an increase of 20% from 2023.  The Port has grown year of year.  In March 2025, for example, the port saw 817,456 TEUs come thru its gateway. marking the 10th consecutive month of year over year growth.

Annually, the port processes over 8 M TEUs, contributing more than $300 billion in trade value and supporting around 2.6 million U.S. jobs.  51,000 of those jobs are in Long Beach alone.
